Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Medium bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen French fries
  • 1 tsp furikake seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400F for 3 minutes.
  • Cook 2 cups of fries according to package instructions. Mine took 9 minutes in the air fryer. Shake or flip the fries halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
  • Once the fries are cooked, transfer them to a bowl. Sprinkle the furikake seasoning over the fries while they're still hot so that the seasoning sticks. Add more if necessary.
  • Gently toss the fries to coat them evenly with the furikake seasoning. Serve immediately and enjoy as is or with your favourite dip!

Notes

Preheat the air fryer before adding the fries. This ensures they start cooking immediately and promotes crispiness.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Fries should be placed in a single layer with some space between each piece for proper air circulation. Cook in batches if necessary.
Flip or shake the fries halfway through the cooking time for uniform crisping.
Keep an eye on the fries towards the end of the cooking time to prevent over-browning. Cooking times can vary based on the air fryer model, the thickness of the fries, and personal preference.
Toss in the furikake while the fries are still hot so that it adheres better. You can also lightly coat the fries with oil using a spray and then toss in the furikake.
Try different furikake blends.
