What is Chinese Peaches and Cream Shrimp?
This shrimp in mayo sauce with peach is known as 蜜桃蝦. It seems that every time we go to a Chinese restaurant, we will inevitably order this dish. The sauce contains condensed milk and mayonnaise; these two ingredients and shrimp work so well together! Tossing the shrimp with the mayo sauce doesn’t ruin the crunchy coating of the shrimp at all.
The peaches also play a big role in this dish by adding a fruity taste to it. Sometimes, you will see that the peach is omitted and candied walnuts are added instead. Both versions are so yummy!

Equipment and Tools to Make Chinese Peaches and Cream Shrimp
Pot: To blanch the brocolli and fry the shrimp
Medium bowls: To hold the shrimp, egg and corn starch
Measuring spoons and cups: To measure out sauce ingredients
Ingredients
Shrimp: A key component to this dish. You can use other protein such as pork chop.
Egg and cornstarch: The egg binds the shrimp to the crunchy coating of the cornstarch.
Neutral oil: Any neutral oil such as canola, vegetable or peanut oil will be great for frying.
Mayonnaise, condensed milk, honey, lemon juice: The sweet mayo sauce is so tasty!
Broccoli: The broccoli is optional but I do like eating a healthy vegetable with this dish.
Canned peaches: My kids fight over the peach. If you aren’t a sweet and salty fan, you can replace the peach with candied walnuts
Sesame seeds: An optional garnish

Storage and Reheating Tips
The peaches and cream shrimp dish is best eaten day of. However, refrigerate leftovers in an air tight container for up to three days. It will still taste the same but will lose the crispiness. Reheat in the microwave.
Alternatively, only coat what you will be eating that day. Reheat the shrimp in the air fryer and then toss with remaining sauce the following day.
Make Ahead Options
You can blanch the broccoli and make the sauce ahead of time but fry the shrimp on the day you are planning to eat it.
Recipe Tips
Make sure to use a neutral oil, such as vegetable oil, canola oil and peanut oil. Avoid olive oil to fry the shrimp as it has a lower smoke point.
Butterfly the shrimp to create a more beautiful, crunchy fry.
Use a larger sized shrimp for the perfect bite.
You know your oil is ready when you dip bamboo chopsticks into the oil and small bubbles appear.
The shrimp is best eaten day of because it is deep fried.
Mix the sauce with shrimp just before serving. Overtime, the sauce will reduce the crunchiness.
Serve the shrimp with a steaming bowl of rice.
